We are proud to have worked with a number of prestigious clients on highly confidential and complex Microsoft ® Excel applications.
In one of the projects we have worked on, “XLSafe” has been used to protect a complex cash flow forecast template containing over twenty sheets and having thousands of formulae and input cells scattered around the spreadsheet.
The built-in “XLSafe” tools were used to identify the input cells based on their interior color and subsequently protect all other cells including hiding the formulae logic.
The protected spreadsheet was then sold by the company to several clients using the “XLSafe” licensing functionality to control the users who were able to open the spreadsheet.
These users were only able to change the data in the input cells and could not see the spreadsheet logic nor distribute the protected spreadsheet to unauthorised users who did not purchase a license.
Our client has also used “XLSafe” to put an expiry date of several months, so that users will have to extend their license for using the cash flow template beyond this time period.
